NEXT STEPS

We believe that no matter where you are in your journey, you will always have a next step to take.  Recognizing that all spiritual life begins with Jesus, have you taken the first step to receive Him as your Lord and Savior?  Have you considered Jesus, seriously . . .

Why Consider Jesus?

The Bible makes it clear, God is holy (morally perfect) and man is sinful, separated from God by our rebellion and sin against Him.  Because of our sin, all of us will be held accountable before God’s Throne in judgment for our sinful actions in this life, for “… it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment.” (Hebrews 9:26)  Jesus, God incarnate, came to earth to glorify the Father by revealing His Father’s heart and plan to save us from our sin.  Jesus lived a morally perfect life and then offered up that life on the cross to pay the sin-debt we have before God.  In other words, Jesus took our just punishment so that we might be forgiven and made right before God – just as if we had never even sinned! The Bible says that “He [God the Father] made Him [Jesus His Son] who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him [Jesus].” (2 Corinthians 5:21) Jesus provides salvation from God’s judgment to anyone who will receive this free gift by faith, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) and “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)  Faith in Jesus saves us eternally.  And how can Jesus do this – He is God the Son in the flesh and proved this when he rose from the dead three days after dying on the cross!

ACCEPT JESUS

Hope For Your Life - Now and Forever

Through faith (active trust) in Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, our sin is washed away and we are brought into eternal and wonderful relationship with God!  As the Scriptures say, “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;… for ‘Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (Romans 10:9,13) What great, life-changing, hope-filled Truth!  And who doesn’t need this salvation and this hope?! Though life isn’t perfect or easy for any of us, for those who believe, Jesus brings meaning and purpose to all the struggles we face. When we come to believe in and receive Jesus, we live life in an authentic relationship with God through Him.  “But as many as received Him [Jesus], to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12)  To be a reconciled child of God is the life we were made for – here on earth and for eternity. This is God’s undeserved gift to all who believe in and receive Jesus!

Now What?

If you are ready to be forgiven and turn your life over to Jesus and become a child of God, you can - right here, right now! Simply pray a simple, heart-felt prayer of repentance and commitment, like this one:

“Lord Jesus, I am a sinner and I need You! I believe that You are God the Son and died on the cross to save me from my sin.  Your blood paid my debt before God’s Throne.  Today, I repent of my sin (turn from my way of doing things) and put all of my faith and hope for forgiveness and eternal life in You.  Please forgive my sin and fill my heart with Your Spirit and make me Yours.  I believe in Your resurrection from the dead, and as my living Lord and Savior I will follow You the rest of my life!"

Praying this prayer doesn’t save you.  God does through faith in Jesus.  But if you prayed this prayer in faith and sincerity, God has done the saving work of bringing you to Himself through Jesus Christ, His Son!  Now it is vital that you connect yourself to a good, Bible-preaching, Jesus-following church.  If you live near us, give us a call or stop by and tell us of how God has worked in your life!  We want to celebrate this with you and support you as you continue to grow in faith and relationship with Jesus!  If you don’t live around here, please contact us anyway and let us know of your decision.  We want to help you find a good church in your area in which you can worship, serve and grow as a follower of Jesus!
